The "duh" is a bit uncalled for seeing as he is completely new to GW. I swear, some people just have to put down everyone they see no matter what.
Yes he does make a good point though. Go PvE first and get a feel for the different classes and such. Level a character, learn your class, and see what you like. Also gives you a chance to try out new things and learn the game before you decide to start taking on other players in PvP. Good luck and welcome. If you need any help in game, whisper me and I'll help ya out. |

PvE will let you experience the story and unlock skills and items for PvP too by IDing them. One of the things I really wish GW had was a profession quiz chooser. It could be built into the game. What do you like to do? Be an attacker of support? What would be your goal on the field if you were playing? |

Welcome to GW and Guru
Yep, you should try out PvE first and get a feel for the different classes. Also, PvP requires you to unlock skills before you can use them, and you'll want to PvE to get those skills unlocked. That is, unless you want to fork out cash for the unlock pack. |

Welcome to Guild Wars and Guru :-)
I do agree I think PVE is the best start. While you play PVE, you'll get the feel for the different profession and you will also unlock skills you can use in PVP later. |

As they've said, PvE is where you should start, as you need to know the game to succed in PvP.
Just pick a profession that seems good and play with it for a while, when you've learned the basics, try out every class to see which one(s) you like best. Welcome to GW and Guru! Hope you'll enjoy it as much as the rest of us |
